Overview

The Rotary Foundation funds a fully paid master's degree in peace and conflict studies at one of its Rotary Peace Centers. The Australian centre is hosted at the University of Queensland in Brisbane.

The fellowship covers full tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transport and field-study expenses. Field study is part of the programme rather than an extra, and the funding reflects that.

Who it is designed for

This is not a straight-from-undergraduate scholarship. You need a bachelor's degree and strong English, and normally at least three years of relevant work or volunteer experience in peace, development or international relations. The programme is built around people who already have practice to reflect on.

How to apply

Applications go through a Rotary district rather than directly to the university, and they close in the middle of the year. Because a district endorsement is involved, contact your local Rotary district early, that step takes time and cannot be rushed at the deadline.

Confirm the current requirements and closing dates on the Rotary Foundation page below.
