The Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) is a one-year postgraduate qualification for people who want to lead learning and development inside organisations. You study how adults learn, how to design training that actually changes what people can do, and how to assess whether it worked. Expect units on instructional design, assessment and evaluation, managing learning programs, and the business side of learning, budgets, stakeholders, compliance with Australian vocational and workplace training standards.
This is an AQF graduate diploma, which sits between a bachelor degree and a master's. It is normally one year of full-time study, delivered across semesters or trimesters depending on the provider. You enrol in units of study, each worth a set number of credit points, and you need to pass the required credit points to graduate. Assessment is usually a mix of written assignments, project work, presentations and practical tasks rather than a single final exam. Some providers include a capstone project where you design a learning program for a real organisation, and many build in work-integrated learning or a placement with a training provider or employer.
You learn to analyse a skills gap and turn it into a learning solution. That means writing learning outcomes, choosing delivery modes, building assessment tools, and using data to show whether performance improved. You also pick up the management skills to run a learning function: planning, resourcing, leading a team of trainers, and reporting to senior managers. Graduates often move into roles where they advise on training strategy rather than just deliver sessions.
This course fits trainers, assessors, HR professionals, team leaders and subject-matter experts who already work with adult learners and want a formal postgraduate credential. It also suits people changing into learning and development from another field. If your goal is to manage a training department, run an RTO's learning programs, or lead capability building in a large organisation, this is a practical step. English proficiency is required for international applicants; IELTS Academic 6.0–6.5 overall is the common coursework-postgraduate standard, with TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, Cambridge C1 Advanced and the institution's own English programmes accepted as equivalents. The Department of Home Affairs sets a separate English threshold for the Student visa. Tuition is published on the CRICOS register. Check the official page for current unit lists, entry requirements and intake dates.
It typically takes 1 year, with intakes in Semester 1 (Feb/Mar), Semester 2 (Jul).
Tuition is around A$12,200 total. Fees change yearly, confirm with an advisor.
