This double degree at Collarts gives you two qualifications in three and a half years: a Bachelor of Applied Business (Fashion Marketing) and a Bachelor of Design (Fashion & Sustainability). You graduate with both business and design skills, which is exactly what fashion employers ask for when they hire for marketing, product, or sustainability roles.
You'll take units in marketing, consumer behaviour, brand management, and retail strategy alongside design studios in fashion design, textile practice, and sustainable production. The sustainability side is not an add-on. You'll look at supply chains, materials, circular design, and how fashion businesses measure and reduce their environmental impact. Assessment is mostly practical: marketing plans, brand audits, garment or range projects, and a final capstone where you bring the two halves together, often with an industry partner.
Australian bachelor degrees are built on units of study, each worth a set number of credit points. This one runs across trimesters, so you study year-round and finish in three and a half years rather than four. You'll complete core units in both disciplines, then choose electives to specialise. The capstone unit in your final year is a substantial project that draws on everything you've learned. Some units include work-integrated learning, such as industry projects or placements with fashion labels, retailers, or agencies, which counts toward your degree.
You'll learn to build a fashion brand from the ground up, plan and run a marketing campaign, source and assess materials, and design with sustainability in mind. You'll also pick up the practical stuff: how to pitch, how to work in a team, how to use industry software for design and marketing. By the end, you'll have a portfolio that shows both your creative work and your business thinking.
This degree suits someone who wants to work in fashion but doesn't want to be boxed into one role. If you're interested in how clothes are made, how they're sold, and how the industry can clean up its act, this gives you the tools to work across all three. It's also a good fit if you've done some study or work in business or design and want to add the other side. International students should check the English requirements: IELTS Academic 6.0–6.5 overall is the usual standard for undergraduate courses, and the Student visa has its own English threshold set by the Department of Home Affairs. While you study, you can work up to 48 hours per fortnight, and after you finish you may be eligible for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) post-study work stream. Tuition is published on the CRICOS register. Confirm all details on the official page.
Australian fashion and retail businesses hire for these roles: established labels, online retailers, department stores, boutique agencies, and the growing number of circular fashion and textile recycling organisations. The sustainability side opens doors in consulting and corporate responsibility teams, which more Australian retailers are building out.
It typically takes 3.5 years, with intakes in Semester 1 (Feb/Mar), Semester 2 (Jul).
Tuition is around A$130,860 total. Fees change yearly, confirm with an advisor.
